Question by Lisa O: Declined bank account due to bad credit? What do i do?
Im with Halifax and recently tried to open a bank account with them, that failed. So they said to appeal, which i did. Which also failed. I already have a cashcard account with them though? Its all due to some “bad credit” i’ve also tried having contract phones taken out and they’ve all said the same :( what should i do?

By the way, ive just turned 18, i have no bad debt, no credit cards, no credit or contracts, i dont owe anybody any money,

sounds like to me you need to do a credit history get your credit report and see if there is anything on it

  1. Not I

Go to the website http://www.annualcreditreport.com and find out just what is on your credit report. You need to contact the reporting agencies and dispute anything that is there. Your argument is you just turned 18 and could not have accumulated any debt.
Someone has opened accounts using your name and SSN
