Banks with Free Overdraft Protection?
Question by alferzz: Banks with Free Overdraft Protection?
I’m looking for a bank with free checking, and more importantly the ability to link a line of credit account or credit card where I am not charged a dime in “transfer” or “cash advance” fees if i overdraft and have to draw on the line or card. I am currently with US Bank who has such a feature, but they dont have any branches in NYC, where Im planning to move. Anyone know of such a bank?
Well they do exist, because US Bank has exactly this. I’m just looking for a bank in NYC that does this also. Did I just get really lucky?

I would suggest that such an “animal” would not exist.
What do you think? Answer below!

I don’t know of any financial institution that does this. Overdraft fees are a good way for banks to make a lot of money and I doubt they’d give that up. If it’s a one-time thing, you can usually talk with them to try and get it waived but if it’s an ongoing problem, you may just have to keep better track of what’s going in and out of your account.
find a bank that offers overdraft protection. it’s free unless you use it. For example, if you over draw your account, it will pull money from your overdraft account into your checking account so that you can avoid NSF fees. my bank takes they money from my overdraft account in $ 100 increments. Then when I get paid, I just pay back however much money it took. Plus, it helps you to build credit. Almost any bank I know of offers this.
