Bankruptcy and divorce. What effect would that have on the spouse?
My parents are separated, they’ve been separated for 7 years. My mom is planning to file for bankruptcy this year. But she wants to know if her filing for bankruptcy will affect my father and his life in anyway.
And if you could explain the whole bankruptcy procedure or provide some helpful links to sites, that would be great.
If they are only “separated” and not divorced. Then I’m about 90% sure it will affect your dad as well.
But I’m not an expert. Before she files, why doesn’t she talk to the person filing her paperwork?
